HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- A street and church in Hasbrouck Heights were the location shoot of an upcoming espionage thriller making its debut on network televison next week.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Chuch was the site for a scene from "The Enemy Within" debuting on NBC next week. The street was closed off to traffic by Hasbrouck Heights Police Department for the day.
According to Laurie Varga, Borough Clerk, the production "came together quickly," noting it was originally scheduled to happen on Tuesday but was re-scheduled due to the weather. She also noted that the VFW was used as a staging area. The scene on Tuesday featured actor Morrow Chestnut, one of the series stars.
The new series features actors Jennifer Carpenter, previously of "Dexter" fame, and Chestnut of "Boys n the Hood," "The Best Man," "Nurse Jackie," and other movies and television appearances. According to the network's website, "this character-based psychological thriller, Erica Shepherd (Jennifer Carpenter), a brilliant former CIA operative now known as one of the most notorious traitors in recent American history, is serving life in a Supermax prison. Against every fiber of his being, but with nowhere else to turn, FBI agent Will Keaton (Morris Chestnut) enlists Shepherd to help track down a fiercely dangerous and elusive criminal."
The scene shot in Hasbrouck Heights is scheduled to appear in episode six.
