LODI, NJ - A festive day celebrating a car giveaway ended with a car dealership having their mega-sized holiday inflatables stolen just days before Christmas.

Mazda of Lodi had two new holiday inflatables installed late last week. The two-story big Santa and Grinch were stolen from the dealership on Route 46 East on Saturday, December 21 at 11:30pm, according to Diane Braun, marketing manager. The dealership's security cameras caught the person, wearing a black hoodie, coat and jeans. The person cut the wires that tethered the 20-foot blow ups, deflated them, and stole them.

Since the dealership was closed on Sunday, the missing blow-ups weren't noticed until Monday morning when general manager Enrique Sanchez opened for the day. Braun noted that none of the cars were damaged.

The incident followed a festive celebration in the culmination of the dealership's car giveaway. The day included holiday food and drinks along with a radio personality Greg T from WKTU FM. Owner Glenn Ellis gave away a new car, the 2018 Mazda3 Grand Touring FWD, to Micheal del Rio from Ridgefield Park, from the thousands of entries.

Braun noted that the Detective Division of the Lodi Police Department is overseeing the investigation. She said there is a reward for any information leading to a break in the case. People can call the dealership at 973-594-1700.
