TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the newest number of presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus and deaths at his Thursday afternoon press conference, where he detailed the issues the state is having with its $1.8 billion allotted from the CARES Act funds.

There are 4,247 new cases with 307 new deaths. Statewide, there are 99,989 positive cases and 5,368 deaths. 

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 14,062 presumptive positive cases in the county as of 12 noon Thursday. Locally, Hasbrouck Heights has 146 cases, Wood-Ridge 110 cases, and Teterboro 5 cases. Hackensack continues to lead the county with 1,039 cases, according to Tedesco.

Bergen County continues to lead the state in cases with 14,049, and followed by Hudson (12,645), Essex (11,811), Union (10,935), Passaic (9,874 and Middlesex (9,530), with 1,108 under investigation.  There are a total of 907 deaths in Bergen County, while Essex County now has the highest number of deaths in the state with 932.

As of 10 p.m. Wednesday, there were 7,240 people hospitalized with COVID-19 or under investigation, with 1,990 patients in ICU or critical care, and 1,462 patients on ventilators. There were 752 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours.

There are 91 patients in the three Field Medical Stations throughout the state.

A total of 179,717 tests have been administered, with 79,558 testing positive, a 44.27% positive rate.
