TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the newest number of presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus and deaths at his Wednesday afternoon press conference, where he called out Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

There are 3,551 new cases with 314 new deaths. Statewide, there are 95,865 positive cases and 5,063 deaths. 

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 13,602 presumptive positive cases in the county as of 12 noon Wednesday. Locally, Hasbrouck Heights has 151 cases, Wood-Ridge 109 cases, and Teterboro 4 cases. Hackensack continues to lead the county with 994 cases, according to Tedesco.

Bergen County continues to lead the state in cases with 13,686, and followed by Hudson (12,039), Essex (11,387), Union (10,484), Passaic (9,392 and Middlesex (9,047), with 1,045 under investigation.  There are a total of 876 deaths in Bergen County.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, there were 7,210 people hospitalized with COVID-19 or under investigation, with 1,983 patients in ICU or critical care, and 1,570 patients on ventilators. There were 745 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours.

According to New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli, the Secaucus Field Medical Station had treated its 200th patient, and has discharged 135.

A total of 172,612 tests have been administered, a 44.5% positive rate.
