NEW HAVEN, CT/ RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Joe Sartori, a Wood-Ridge High School graduate, and student-athlete on the Felician University men's soccer team, has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Fall 2018 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced. It is the second time he has received the award.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have used a season of eligibility while participating in a CACC fall championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a second-year student-athlete at their current school and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher at the end of the immediate preceding term.
Sartori, a junior goalkeeper, won the starting job with the Golden Falcons for the first time in 2018. He led the CACC with 97 saves while posting a 5-9-1 won-lost-tied record and a 2.85 goals-against average. Sartori is a 2016 graduate of Wood-Ridge High. He carries a 3.93 GPA as a management major.
Felician was 5-10-1 overall and finished ninth in the CACC with a 5-7 league record.
Conference-wide, Sartori and teammate Dean Wright of Dublin, Ireland, were two of 62 student-athletes to be honored in men's soccer from the 13 member schools that participate in the sport.
