TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy reviewed the newest number of presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus and deaths at his Saturday press conference, where announced the reopening of chartering fishing and boat rentals in time for Memorial Day weekend.

There are 1,239 new cases with 115 new deaths. Statewide, there are now 145,089 positive cases and 10,249 deaths. 

According to the governor, Hudson County leads the state in cases with 17,326, followed by Bergen (17,246), Essex (16,032), Passaic (15,031), and Union (14,569), with 996 under investigation.  There are a total of 1,450 deaths in Bergen County, while Essex County continues to lead the state with 1,522.

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 17,216 presumptive positive cases in the county as of 12 noon Saturday.  Hasbrouck Heights has 198 cases, Wood-Ridge 137, while Teterboro has 6 cases. 

As of 10 p.m. Thursday, Murphy said there were 3,564 people hospitalized with COVID-19 or under investigation, with 1,061 patients in ICU or critical care, and 846 patients on ventilators. Patient discharges (380) are more than double the new admissions (182.)  The governor said " the trend line on new cases continues to show how far we have come down from the peak" and noted "all are now trending in a good direction."
