TRENTON, NJ -- Governor Phil Murphy did not hold a daily press briefing on Sunday, but appeared during New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's press conference to announce a Regional State Purchasing Consortium, along with other states in the northeast.

The regional buying consortium was launched to jointly procure PPE, tests, ventilators, and other needed medical equipment. The program will increase market power and bring down prices, according to Cuomo, "which will make us more competitive in the international marketplace and save taxpayers money." The states in the effort include Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and New York.

Murphy appeared along with Cuomo and the governors from Connecticut, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Murphy noted "we shouldn’t be competing against each other for lifesaving resources."
