TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the newest number of positive cases of COVID-19 and deaths from around the state during his Tuesday afternoon press conference where he also announced the re-opening of playgrounds, amusement parks, and water parks in time for the July 4th weekend.

There are 382 new cases with 57 new deaths. Statewide, there are 169,734 positive cases and 12,949 deaths. 

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 19,082 positive cases in the county as of 12 pm Tuesday. According to Tedesco, Hasbrouck Heights has 213 cases, Wood-Ridge has 146 cases, and Teterboro has 6 cases.

According to the governor, Bergen County has the most in cases in the state with 19,069, and followed by Hudson (18,773), Essex (18,592), Passaic (16,794), and Middlesex (16,640), with 697 under investigation.  There are a total of 1,706 deaths in Bergen County, while Essex County, continues to lead the state with 1,765, according to Governor Murphy.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, Murphy noted a "slight increase from the day before" with 1,092 patients in the hospital being treated for COVID-19, with 307 patients were in ICU or critical care, and 216 patients on ventilators. There were 48 discharges and 50 new hospital admissions, according to the governor, who said "we can't have a one day increase turn into a trend."
