TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the newest number of positive cases of COVID-19 and deaths from around the state during his Wednesday afternoon press conference where he announced the guidelines that the state's colleges and universities will need to implement before students can return to campus.

There are 330 new cases with 47 new deaths. Statewide, there are 167,703 positive cases and 12,769 deaths. 

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 18,936 presumptive positive cases in the county as of 12 pm Wednesday. According to Tedesco, Hasbrouck Heights has 209 cases, Wood-Ridge has 146 cases, and Teterboro has 6 cases.

Bergen County has the most in cases in the state with 18,928, and followed by Hudson (18,755), Essex (18,421), Passaic (16,683), and Middlesex (16,513), with 643 under investigation.  There are a total of 1,681 deaths in Bergen County, while Essex County, continues to lead the state with 1,755, according to Governor Murphy.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Murphy noted an "uptick" with were 1,352 patients in the hospital being treated for COVID-19, with 358 patients were in ICU or critical care, and 254 patients on ventilators. There were 92 discharges and 64 new hospital admissions, according to the governor.
