HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Lincoln School PTA has been awarded a $1,000 grant from National PTA and Google to host a Be Internet Awesome Family Workshop at the school and empower parents with resources to help their children be safe and responsible online. Lincoln School PTA is one of only 75 local PTAs nationwide selected to receive the grant.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 12 in the KMD Media Center at Lincoln School. It will run from 6 to 8pm and hosted by Jennie Porfido, LIncoln PTA, and Cindy Capozzi, Media Specialist.
"In a word where every child has access to the internet, it is important to prepare them to make smart decisions," said Jennie Porfido, Lincoln PTA president. "We are looking forward to working with our Lincoln School families and the community to teach our children digital citizenship and safety."
At the Be Internet Awesome workshop, families will:
● Learn about online safety tools and how to better navigate the internet
● Grow their understanding of digital well-being
● Engage with one another in meaningful conversations about raising children in an online world
The Be Internet Awesome Family Workshop and grant program are part of National PTA’s PTA Connected initiative, which is designed to deepen the understanding and knowledge of parents, families and teachers about digital safety tools and resources.
