Democrat Steven Reyngoudt was elected with the most votes, and will take Republican David Gonzales seat on the Council.  Incumbent Republican Russell Lipari narrowly defeated fellow Republican Michael Sickels and Democrat Helayne Weiss for the second council seat.  Gonzalez stepped in for Peter Traina after Traina resigned last December due to personal reasons.

The result would shift the balance between the parties slightly, as the Republican control would go from 5-1 to 4-2 on the Council.

The Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education will have two new members in Chris DeLorenzo and Lauren Terranova. Alan Baker, who resigned from the Board of Education in September, after the deadline to remove him from the ballot, received the most votes.
