WOOD-RIDGE, NJ -- Over 200 food lovers attended the sixth annual Taste of Hasbrouck Heights and Friends Wednesday night at The Fiesta in Wood-Ridge. The annual event is sponsored by the Hasbrouck Heights Friends of the Free Public Library in partnership with the Hasbrouck Heights Chamber of Commerce. Foodies could sample signature dishes from 28 eateries from the surrounding towns, including Wood-Ridge, Teterboro, Carlstadt, and Hasbrouck Heights.
“This event gets bigger each year,” said Mimi Hui, Hasbrouck Heights Library Director, and event coordinator. "The community always comes out to support this event."
The event offered a range of dishes including Asian, Italian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Thai, Southwest and American classics. People saved room for coffee and dessert, including rice pudding, chocolates, cakes, gelato, crumb coffee cake, and French toast brioche wtih strawberries and whipped cream. In addition, there was a 50/50 and 27 gifts in the tricky tray raffle. Over 30 teen volunteers assisted the organizers throughout the evening.
