WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Gray skies couldn't keep away residents from Wood-Ridge's second annual Food Truck Festival held at Wesmont Station on Sunday afternoon.
Residents had a choice of numerous food trucks and carts specialties including pizza, lobster rolls, chicken tenders, hot dogs, empandas, Texas BBQ, and Philly cheesesteaks. Refreshments included ice cream, fried Oreos, and lemonade and, for adults,a beer garden.
The Wood-Ridge Police Department had a table with information about the next Junior Police Academy. Comfort Zone Camp sold lemonade as a fundraiser for its mission to support children who've experienced the death of a parent or sibling before age 20.
The B Street Band took to the stage at 2 p.m., opening with "Your Hometown," followed by other Bruce Springsteen hits like "Pink Cadillac" and "Glory Days," among others.
Young children enjoyed bounce houses and face painting.
This is the second community-based event that Wood-Ridge has hosted in recent months. In June, the borough held its second annual Town Day along Valley Boulevard.
