WOOD-RIDGE, NJ -- An area Rotary Club is hosting a diaper drive for families in need through mid-May.

Rotary District 7490, which covers Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties, is collecting diapers to donate to several area organizations, according to Forrest Elliott. The group has given diapers to The Center for Hope and Safety in Rochelle Park, Zoe's Place in Ridgewood, SMILE for Charity in Passaic. In addition, they've donated to military families in need. Elliot  said the sizes being requested are sizes 4,5, and 6,  but the will accept any sizes.tt Elliott said there were two main reasons why the group is focusing on a diaper drive.

"One of our rotary members who passed away, Thomas Shea, wanted to make sure low-income families always had diapers," he explained. "The second reason is when I started doing the research, I found out that other issues develop because of lack of diapers."
