WOOD-RIDGE, NJ --  Rotary Club District 7490 is hosting a school supply drive for children for the upcoming school year.

The district club, which covers Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties, is collecting school supplies for special needs students, according to Forrest Elliott. The goal is collect enough supplies to stuff 30 backpacks for the start of the school year. Items being collected include:

  • Backpacks
  • Notebooks
  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Glue
  • Rulers
  • Binders
  • Post-it,
  • Index cards
  • Pencil sharpeners

The group's most recent community outreach was a diaper drive for area organizations and military families in the mid- to late-spring.

Donations will be accepted at Kearny Bank in Wood-Ridge through September 1.
