HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Men’s Association honored retired and outgoing Chief of the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Angelo Roccamo as the “Man of the Year” at the annual members dinner on Saturday, February 29.

The Executive Board of the Men’s Association voted unanimously for Roccamo for the way he has served the town and the Fire Department over his 39 years of service.

Hasbrouck Heights Men’s Association President Steve Palladino presented Roccamo with the award in front of members of the organization and his extended family. "I am truly appreciative of the service that Angelo provided to the community of Hasbrouck Heights," said Palladino. "To put it into perspective, for myself, I volunteered as a board member for the Little League for nine years and know the amount of work it takes. So I can not imagine doing it for another 30 years, as Angelo did for 39 years with the Fire Department. He went above and beyond for the town and can not thank him enough.  Thank You again."

Many of Roccamo's accomplishments were highlighted, including serving the Department for a second time around over the last three years.

The Executive Board also announced Kyle Kasper as its ‘Member of the Year.’ Kasper was praised for his outstanding work in the numerous projects he tackles for the organization, including the annual Christmas Tree Sale.

"I always knew Kyle was a great volunteer and better person as we always had a good time volunteering at the barbecue pit during high school football games," noted Palladino. "Ironically, it was at the BBQ pit that Kyle inquired about the Men's Association. He has been a great addition to the HHMA and i hope to keep our friendship doing great things for years to come.  Thank you again."
