HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -  A Hero's Welcome Northern NJ is again partnering with Wreaths Across America to lay wreaths at the graves of veterans at Christmas time. This year the group with lay wreaths at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler, New Jersey.

Wreaths Across America "coordinates wreath­-laying ceremonies at more than 1,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad," according to its website. It remembers veterans from the Revolutionary War to present day conflicts. December 14 is Wreaths Across American Day for 2019.

Last year a group of 110 volunteers laid 700 wreaths on graves at Rahway National Cemetery. This year Rose Pagan, coordinator of A Hero's Welcome NNJ, hopes to have volunteers lay 1900 wreaths.

"People are so generous and kind when it comes to veterans and our military," said Pagan. 

It is $15 to sponsor a wreath. Checks can be made payable to Wreaths Across America. Those looking to volunteers can email Pagan at ahwnnj@gmail.com.
