HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Students home for remote learning can help brighten a soldier's day by helping support the annual Support Our Troops Day.
Rose Pagan and A Hero's Welcome North Jersey is collecting cards, letters and drawings for the 11th annual Support Our Troops Day scheduled for Sunday, May 3. The annual event is sponsored by MSAWI, the Major Stuart Adam Wolfer Institute. Wolfer was killed in the Green Zone, Baghdad, Iraq. The Institute was established so that his legacy of leadership, commitment to his country and community service will continue to live on and to inspire future generations of children, adults and leaders. The Institute is committed to supporting U.S. troops stationed overseas and domestically.
This is the second year Pagan and her group are supporting the event. Pagan said her goal this year is to collect 1000 cards, letters, or drawings for the troops. She said it can be created with anything, cards, writing paper, construction paper, or drawings. Some Girl Scout troops and families have already created their 'thank you' messages.
Pagan said she looks forward to seeing the creative submissions and reading the kind, positive, encouraging messages of thanks for the troops.
