MOONACHIE, NJ - This week the Moonachie Fire Department assisted the Meadowlands Area YMCA with a donation of baby supplies. Members of the department gave back to those who need assistance during this historic time and fulfilled a request by the YMCA for a donation of baby supplies.
"With so many people reaching out to the department trying to make donations to us, the department felt we needed to do something to give back to the community. Every little bit helps," said Lieutenant Halloran. "We hope other departments follow suit, and make additional donations, too."
Baby supplies included 16 boxes of diapers in sizes ranging from newborn and up, and canisters and boxes of formula.
Chief Justin Derevyanik and Lieutenant Halloran took time out to deliver the items directly to the YMCA and thanked them for all they are doing to help so many.
If any other department would like to make a donation please contact the Meadowlands YMCA or a local food bank.
