WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - A Wood-Ridge eighth grader was awarded a scholarship to continue her education in high school.

Lilliana Wronko received a $1000 scholarship from the Knights of Columbus St. Anthony Council 11585 from Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge. She was presented the Anthony Giuseffi Sr. Scholarship by John Milne, Grand Knight

Milne said that Lily is a "good student, athlete, involved in school clubs, and volunteers at church as well."

This scholarship is a way of celebrating and honoring Sir Knight Anthony Giuseffi Sr. for all his contributions to the church, community, and order, according to Milne. 

"He was most committed to Charity, Unity and Fraternity" Milne stated.  " Anthony loved his family and friends and is missed by all. He was an active Knight until the very end," he said.

The requirements for this award include:

• The student must be in 8th grade (Public or Parochial school);

• A parishioner of Assumption Church of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge;

• Been accepted and will attend a Catholic High School in September, and

• Complete all the essay questions on Scholarship application.
