Traditionally new businesses open during this month.  Due to the Department of Community Affairs mandate that only essential businesses may be open, we have a couple of businesses that are not considered essential which are awaiting the ban to be lifted to open.  At that time we will welcome them to our community.

16 outdoor permits have been issued during the last month. 21 initial Uniform Construction Code inspections were done during the past month with 16 passing on the first inspection. This is a 76% passing rate.

A reminder to residents that with the warmer weather upon us, lawns should be maintained and shrubs should be trimmed so that the sidewalks are left clear for pedestrian traffic

Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department April 2020 Monthly Report

We are currently accepting donations for the food pantry, anyone who donates can bring the bags to back door of Borough Hall between 8am-3pm. You can call the rec office at 201 288-4143 to let us know you are dropping the bags off. Once the bags are accepted the bags are put in a quarantine area, before we redistribute to the public. If you would rather donate a Shop-Rite gift card you can do that as well.

The pantry is still serving families in need on Monday mornings 9 to 11am, a single family member can line up next to a cone (for social distancing purpose) at the back door of boro hall, wait patiently and someone will bring food out to you.

The Recreation Department is reaching out to our senior population, asking if they or any friends need any supplies or food. If anyone is aware of a senior in need please have them call the recreation department at 201 288 4143.

All Spring recreation sports activities are still suspended until further notice. That includes Softball, Track & Field, Adult Basketball, Adult Volleyball, and Senior Center Activities.
