HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - It really was standing room only in Council Chambers as the Hasbrouck Heights Mayor and Council honored four Hasbrouck Heights Soccer Association teams for their successful season in the fall.

Each player and coach received a certificate from Councilman Justin DiPisa, and was congratulated by Mayor Jack DeLorenzo and Councilman Ron Kistner.

Up first were the D5 Boys South Bergen Soccer League Champions, coached by Neil Peterson.

"I'm very proud of them, they're a very selfless team," said Peterson. "They sacrificed their summer, they sacrificed the positions that they liked to play. They're a great bunch of kids."

Next to be honored was the D4 Girls SBSL Champions coached by Brian Bruton.

"This is a great group of girls to coach this year," said Bruton. "They had a great season. I loved playing with them; I loved coaching them. They did a great job, and really fought hard."

The D4 girls played defeated another Hasbrouck Heights team for the championship.

The D4 Boys SBSL Champions were honored for their season. They were coached by Steve Capozzoli.

"They fought hard in every game," said Capozzoli. 

Finally, the D3 Boys SBSL Champions were honored, who were also coached by Brian Bruton.

"The boys really fought hard this season," said Bruton. "They played against some really stiff competition from the other towns. From defense, to offense to the goalie, they really did a great job.
