HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Mayor and Council had their April meeting Tuesday via ZOOM, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. 

Mayor Jack  DeLorenzo, Borough Attorney Richard Malagiere, Borough Clerk Laurie Varga, Hasbrouck Heights Police Chief Michael Colaneri Sr. and Department of Public Works Superintendent William Spindler were in attendance in the Council Chambers. Borough Administrator Michael Kronyak, Councilwoman Josephine Ciocia and Councilman Ron Kistner participated via ZOOM in different parts of Borough Hall. The rest of the Council and the public also participated via ZOOM.

Ordinance 2458 was approved, which appropriates $200,000 to provide for the repair/reconstruction of certain portions of the sanitary sewer and storm water drainage facilities within Hasbrouck Heights and further to authorize the financing of the cost thereof in accordance with the provisions of the local bond law with the issuance of bonds or notes not to exceed to $190,000.

Additionally, the Council passed the Bills resolution, approved the minutes of the March 10, 2020, Regular and Work Sessions, and March 24 Regular meeting, as well as the consent agenda.

The consent agenda consisted of:

75.  Payroll

76.  Authorizing method payment via personal check, bank check, certified check, money order, or credit card ONLY for payments made at City Hall

77. Marriage/Civil Union Licenses - payment of fees to state

78. Dog Licenses - payment of fees to state

79.  Approving Refund of 2015 & 2016 taxes overpaid as a result of a tax court judgement.

80.  Authorizing approval of 2020/21 Licenses for Commercial Sale of Certain Motor Vehicles for the following:

  • Haen-Jee Auto Mall   92 Railroad Ave   Suite 211 
  • Supreme Clientele Auto Group 92 Railroad Ave Suite 130
  • J Crown Auto Sales LLC  92 Railroad Ave, Suite 105
