TETERBORO, NJ - The Teterboro Mayor and Council introduced an ordinance for new carpeting and improvement, and announced a request to cut back part of the traffic island on Route 46 West to aid in traffic flow at its November meeting on Thursday, November 14.

The Council introduced on first reading Ordinance 604 to authorize the acquisition of carpeting and painting for the municipal building. According to Borough Manager Nicholas Saros, it has been at least 10 years since the municipal building had been carpeted and painted. The second and final reading will be at the borough's December 10 meeting.

Saros also noted that he had contacted the Governor's office and Department of Transportation to request that part of the island on Route 46 West be cut back to extend the left exit lane onto Industrial Avenue leading into the Teterboro Landing shopping area. He also requested signage indicating that drivers can take the Green Street exit into the shopping mall. They are looking to alleviate the backlog that occurs along the highway, and he said the project would be a "high priority."
