HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Santa Claus paid a last minute visit to the boroughs children on Sunday, with some assistance from the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department.
There was a line of two dozen-plus children and parents at his first stop of the day, the corner of Central Avenue and the Boulevard. Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted children, young and the young at heart, posing for photos, giving hugs, and handing out candy canes. The youngest visitor was seven weeks old who met Santa for the first time. Even Sparky the Fire Dog was on hand to help with his furry friends who came to meet Santa.
Then with the help of the Hasbrouck Heights bravest, Santa took his spot in his specially-outfitted sled to dash away and meet the other children at various stops in Hasbrouck Heights, before returning to the North Pole to make final preparations for his return trip on Christmas Eve.
