HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The American Legion Post 106 of Hasbrouck Heights is now accepting entries for its annual Poster Contest. It will announce the three winners at the May 4 meeting of the Post at 3 p.m. in the Hasbrouck Heights Senior Center.
The contest is open to any Hasbrouck Heights high school students in public, private, parochial or home school. A total of $500.00 in prize money will be awarded, with the first prize winner taking home $250, The runner-up will receive $150, while third prize will get $100.
Inspiration for the posters will be the 75th anniversary of the ending of World World II. Students can create original art or use existing images with captions. The only criteria for submission is that the work meets the Facebook standards for acceptable posts.
Students will post their artwork to the Hasbrouck Heights American Legion Facebook page in the Visitors Post section, with three pieces of information:
- title of the post,
- student name,
- student e-mail address that is active.
Students may submit only one entry. Voting runs until March 14. The winner is decided by the total number of "Likes."
