HACKENSACK, NJ - Members of Hasbrouck Heights Pack 17 Webelos learned the fundamentals of providing first aid to an injured person from a member of the Hackensack Fire Department last Friday night.
The eight boys attended the session hosted by Lt. Michael Thomasey of the Hackenseck Fire Department, who is also a father to one of the Scouts. The boys learned first responder skills, which is required for their Webelos rank. Thomasey taught the Scouts the basics of CPR, which included hands on exercises with a resuscitation mannequin, wound care, and other first aid skills needed to help someone who is hurt.
Hasbrouck Heights Cub Scout Pack 17 meets every two weeks at the Corpus Christi Early Learning Center on the Boulevard.
