Our Recreation Softball teams enjoyed a successful 2019 season, with one team winning the South Bergen Championship, and our 12U team winning the Bergen Travel Softball Championship. Recreation Wrestling had over 50 wrestlers win medals at various tournaments in 2019 and 3 recreation wrestlers placing at the NJ State Wrestling Championship, one wrestler even won the NJ State Championship for his weight class. The team as a whole won more than 150 medals last season. Recreation track and field had its largest team ever in 2019 with over 140 boys and girls in grades 3rd-8th registering for the program.

In 2019 we hosted several events in our Senior Center and sponsored two Senior Bus trips.  We also added an intermediate line dancing class and a new stretch and flex class. Town Day 2019 enjoyed great live music, participation from many town organizations, and fun activities for all ages with rides, games, and giveaways. Our adults continued to enjoy open gym basketball and volleyball, two of our longest running programs. We have seen our Halloween in the Park grow into the “must do” fall event for families and friends.

Looking forward to 2020 the residents can expect us to continue our high standard of inclusive fun family activities for all! With several new programs for children and adults. I would like to thank all the residents that help volunteer coach, and participate in our programs to make them the best they can be. I would also like to thank all children, parents, and seniors for participating in our programs, without your involvement our recreation department and senior center would not enjoy the success that it does. Again thank you to everyone for making 2019 a great year in the HH Recreation Department.
