HACKENSACK, NJ - Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton released a statement late Saturday morning about the arrest of a BCSO Corrections Officer.
The alleged misconduct stems from a joint investigation from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office and Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. Corrections Officer Jessica Stec has been placed on administrative leave. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office provides a safe and secure environment for its employees, and those inmates/detainees held under the custodial care of the Bergen County Sheriff.
Any allegation of misconduct is an immediate concern to me and my leadership team. While the investigation continues, we are taking all appropriate measures to assure that this kind of violation of our rules does not happen again.
At this time, all further inquiries will be referred to the statement released by the Prosecutor's Office.
