TRENTON, NJ - Fresh off his press conference with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and governors from four other states announcing a regional advisory board, Governor Phil Murphy announced the newest number of presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus and deaths at his Monday afternoon press conference.
There were 3,219 new cases with 94 new deaths. Statewide, there are 64,584 positive cases and 2,443 deaths in total as of Monday.
The Governor announced Bergen County continues to lead the state in cases with 10,092, and followed by Hudson (7,879), Essex (7,634), Union (6,636), Middlesex (5,987) and Passaic (5,950.) There are a total of 482 deaths in Bergen County.
Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced his office is no longer reporting cases by individual municipalities.
Judith Persichilli, Department of Health Commissioner, noted that there are 7,781 people hospitalized with COVID-19 or under investigation. Of those 1,886 are in critical care, and 1,611 of those people are on ventilators. She noted that 556 people were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.
During the press conference, Persichilli also said there were 37 patients at the Meadowlands Field Station in Secaucus, and she expected 62 by the end of the day.
