HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - A live electrical wire which was touching a metal pole was the reason for the 20 minute blackout that struck most of Hasbrouck Heights Tuesday evening.  The pole, on Ottawa Avenue, required PSE&G to shut down the power circuit in the area, according to the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department.

The outage was felt throughout most of the Borough, with residents from Longview and Pasadena, to Williams and Kipp, and Field Avenues reporting no power. A few homes on Jefferson Avenue did not lose power.

Power was restored at approximately 11:30pm, after a 20 minute outage.
