TRENTON/HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy remembered a Hasbrouck Heights residents during his Thursday press conference who had passed away from COVID-19.
Asha Pritam Badlani lived in Hasbrouck Heights and worked for the United State Postal Service for 28 years in the West Caldwell Post Office, accpording to Murphy. She retired three years ago.
"She was a spiritual woman for whom family came first, especially if it meant spending time with her granddaughters," said Murphy.
Murphy quoted her son, Ashish, saying he'll always remember his mother as "gracious, full of joy and humble person, who always welcomed everyone."
Murphy explained that the family had been "rocked" by COVID-19, as her husband is currently in the hospital and her daughter, Sarena, had also battled coronavirus.
She leaves behind her husband, Pritam, two sons, Ashish and Mohit, daughter Sarena, son-in-law Naitik, and two granddaughters.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her loved ones," said Murphy.
