HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Hasbrouck Heights Mayor Jack DeLorenzo issued the following statement Friday evening in response to the vote of "no confidence" from the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department Patrol Division at Tuesday evening's Borough Council meeting.
"For as long as I can remember, the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department has always been a well respected law enforcement agency. I am very disappointed with the current circumstances. The President of PBA Local 102 along with the majority of the Patrol Division have asked for our assistance. I will do whatever is necessary to get the department on the right track. I assure you that I have full confidence that the officers will continue to perform their duties in a professional manner, protecting and serving our community, while we work to resolve these issues. To that end, I will seek authorization from the Council to contract with a professional police consulting firm to review department procedures and management practices in our Police Department."
