TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy announced the newest number of presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus and deaths at his Tuesday afternoon press conference.

There were 4,059 new cases with 365 new deaths. Statewide, there are 68,824 positive cases and 2,805 deaths in total as of Tuesday. 

The Governor announced Bergen County continues to lead the state in cases with 10,426, and followed by Hudson (8,242), Essex (8,212), Union (7,265), Passaic (6,438), and Middlesex (6,313.)  There are 1702 under investigation. There are a total of 550 deaths in Bergen County.

Judith Persichilli, Department of Health Commissioner, said there are 8,185 people hospitalized with COVID-19 or under investigation. Of those 2,051 are in critical care, and 1,626, or 80% of those people are on ventilators. She noted that 556 people were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced Tuesday night that the county has a total of 10,442 presumptive positive cases, as of 12 pm, with a total of 550 deaths. He noted that the numbers may vary due to multiple reasons such as varied reporting times from both the State and local municipalities, as well as pending case verifications and/or county attribution by NJDOH.

Locally, Hasbrouck Heights has 118 cases, Wood-Ridge 88 cases, and Teterboro 4 cases.

Overall, there have been 128,604 tests administered, with 57,654 testing positive, or 44.83%, according to Persichilli.
