HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Parishioners at Corpus Christi Church held a farewell reception for Father Juan Camilo Restrepo after the 12 noon Mass on Sunday, January 27.  He has been assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Father Juan is from Colombia, and came to Corpus Christi as a newly-ordained priest in 2012. In his homily, Father Juan said that it was hard to leave a community that he has grown so close to. He said that despite having gone through years of seminary training, it was being a part of the Corpus Christi community that taught him how to be a priest. He thanked the parish community for making him "the priest I am today."
Father Pat Mulewski, pastor of Corpus Christi, said some words in honor of Father Juan, which included some humorous stories.
