HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Construction began Tuesday morning on the softball and soccer fields at Hasbrouck Heights High School.
According to Michael Scuilla, the district is improving the access for spectators at Hitchcock Field from Oak Grove. Sidewalks, steps, and a ramp are being installed, as well as, a cement pad for under the bleachers.
After this phase, fencing is going to be installed to create separation of players and fans. The fence will also serve to stop balls from leaving the playing area. Weather permitting, the school is looking at two weeks for the cement and one week for the fencing.
The Lady Aviators are scheduled to have their first home game on April 1 against Ridgewood.
