HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education held a special meeting Wednesday night about re-opening Depken Field.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matthew Helfant explained that the district "needs to research with the county and insurance company" as whether to be able to open Depken Field to the public, so they would not be in violation of the Governor's Executive Order. He said they should have an answer by the next regularly scheduled Board of Education on Thursday, May 21.
He noted that some athletic fields and tracks are municipal properties, like Donna Ricker Field in Wood-Ridge, and "are covered differently."
Helfant also recognized the teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week, and nurses for Nurses Day.
