HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Hasbrouck Heights High School and Middle School's Music Department presented the annual Holiday Concert to a standing-room only audience on Wednesday, December 18, in Kiefer Auditorium. 

Performing were the Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band under the direction of Joseph Ascolese. The Jazz Ensemble performed "It Swings Upon a Midnight Clear" with solos by Cherlowe DeGuzman Angela, Ndocaj, and Aiden Desics, and "Decks the Halls with All Sorta of Funky" with solos by Cherlowe DeGuzman, Tejasi Thool, Brandon Govea, and Aiden Desics.The Concert Band performed "Sleigh Ride," "Bring a Torch," Dance of the Tumblers," and "A Christmas Remembrance."

The Symphonic Band was directed by Carron Moroney, and played "Celebrate the Season Fanfare on Joy to the World," "The Chipmunk Song" and "Winter Wonderland." The Concert Choir, directed by Antoinette Gierut, sang "LIttle Saint Nick," with solos by Cherlowe DeGuzman, Steven Kelly, and Nicholas Zarillo, "Christmastime is Here," "Happy Xmas (War is Over)," and "All I Want for Christmas is You" with solos by Olivia Myers and Giulianna Riccobono.  They were accompanied on piano by accompanist Charlie Mezini.

The performing arts groups are composed of students from both the high school and middle school. 

Kiefer Auditorium was decked out in holiday splendor, with seven Christmas trees lit with white lights. The stage was decorated with a backdrop of silver tinsel curtain, and framed by oversized ornaments and white paper snowflakes. Red poinsettias added color to the risers for the choir. A team of Santa's helpers, representing Euclid and Lincoln Schools and the middle and high school included Michelle Bischoff, Tiffany Connelly, Cris DeGuzman, MaryJo Estradiaz, Ahalah Jawabrah, Corinne Hope Ponte, Lisa Krommenhoek, Giovanna Riccobono, Mary Sanches, and Meredith Torres, decorated the auditorium. Donations were provided by Nicole McCalister, Debbie Mottershead, Melissa Porto, and Nick Rodriguez, as well as local businesses including Home Depot, Salon, and Walmart.
