HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office will present an Internet Safety for Parents seminar on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30pm in the Hasbrouck Heights High School Media Center. The event is open to parents in all grades
The event will be hosted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Task Force. Topics will include children's online activity, Internet predators, responding to cyber bullying and acts of online revenge, among others. Children will not be allowed to attend the evening.
This is the first year that the district is running the program, according to Barbara Christianson, Student Assistance Counselor/504 Officer/SLE Coordinator. She noted "that most of our HIB cases in the HHMS last year were based on social media posts."
The workshop is sponsored by both the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department and Hasbrouck Heights Schools.
