WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - The Wood-Ridge Board of Education honored a retiring administrator at the beginning of its June meeting, Monday night online.
Bianca Bechelli has worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Board Administrator Jenine Murray for ten years. Her final day is August 31.
"She's not just Jenine's right-hand person," said Board president Albie Nieves. "She takes care of us as Board members. Every time I'm late on something when it comes to the state, Bianca is all over me. She was critical to the district, continuing to make progress, stay afloat."
Nieves read a special resolution into the record, and opened the floor for the Board members to speak.
"She has been such a value to me, and to us," said Board member Christopher Garvin. "I will certainly miss her, but I wish her well."
"As a relatively new Board member, one of the people that you get closest to are those who need to make sure everything is in compliance," said Board member Patrick Ambrosio. "Bianca was so communicative, and so on top of me to make sure that we were in a good place. And she welcomed me, and she was one of the first connections that I had to the business part of being a Board member. So I want to thank her for all that she's done for me."
Board member Rich Fallon echoed those sentiments saying Bechelli was always there to help him, even when he was running for the board, and wished her the best.
"You know how I feel, you've been great for me," said Murray. "You keep me on task, you keep the office moving and organized. You're going to be greatly missed. I wish you all the best in retirement. Thank you for everything. We'll miss you."
Bechelli wished "everyone the best" and said she was very emotional.
