WILMINGTON, DELAWARE - It was a long, hot weekend for the Akadema Elite Showcase 18U, as they played four games over three days in the middle of one of the hottest stretches of the past few years.

Hasbrouck Heights’ Julia Campen picked up a win and a loss over the weekend, as the Elite went 1-3.  She opened on Friday with a 6-2 win over the Firecrackers, allowing five hits and just one earned run in picking up a complete game victory.  She walked one and struck out three in picking up the win.

Sunday, picked up the loss in a 8-0 loss to the Delaware Express.  The linescore, however, is a little unkind, as the Express scored four runs in fifth and four in the sixth as Campen ran out gas in the 100 degree heat.  Previous to the explosion in the bottom of the fifth, she held Delaware to just two hits and a walk over the first four and third innings.
