LODI, NJ - After both team opened with three runs in the first inning, Wood-Ridge pitching shut down Hasbrouck Heights the rest of the way and captured a 7-3 win in the opening round of the Babe Ruth District All-Star Tournament in Lodi.  

Wood-Ridge jumped out to 3-0 lead as they took advantage of three hits and a hit batsman to get on the board.  Hasbrouck Heights battled back in the bottom of the first, taking advantage of five walks and a hit batsman.  Bryan Formisano, Ryan Connelly and Anthony Moretto each drew bases loaded walks for Hasbrouck Heights.

Wood-Ridge broke the tie with two runs in the third, as Nick RIzos and Michael Sarlo each singled and came around to score for a 5-3.  They added two more runs in the sixth to put the game away.
