HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - One of the annual traditions at the Aviator Relays, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, is the induction of members in the Hasbrouck Heights Track and Field Wall of Fame.  

The black wall around the curve at the Franklin Avenue end of Depken Field, is where the Wall of Fame is located, and is adorned with plaques representing each of the classes.

Kristen Delcalzo  - Delcalzo finished tied for first in the State Group I Champion in the girls pole vault in 2014. She was a New Jersey Interscholastic Conference Meadowlands Division All League selection in 2013 and 2014 in both the high jump and pole vault.  She competed in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions in the Pole Vault. 

"Kristen was our first ever girls state group champion, " said Hasbrouck Heights head coach Rob Brady.  "She won the pole vault, and is still out school record holder in the event."

Pete Reno  - One of the top sprinters in Hasbrouck Heights history, Reno recorded a 10.7 in the 100-yard dash in 1979, and in 1981 ran a 10.8 100-meter dash.  The 10.8 tied the fastest in Bergen County history at the time. He was also a standout in 220-yard dash/ 200 meters and the 440-yard dash/400 meters.  (Track went metric in 1980 in the US.)  

"Pete Reno was a dominant sprinter in the 100 meter and 200 meters at the County level," said Brady.  "At the time of graduation he held the county group record in the 100 meters and frosh record in the 200 meters."

John Valenti - A former track star at Hasbrouck Heights, Valenti has been the Aviators long time throws coach, and has helped the program in building its championships teams by developing multiple All County, All State and Division I athletes in the throwing events. 

"John Valenti's dedication to our athletes shows in their success, "  Brady said about his throw's coach.  "John has had multiple All County athletes in each of the three throwing events for both boys and girls.

"John was also a terrific high school thrower for the Aviators,"  Brady added. "He graduated in 1990 placing top three in the leagye meet in all three throwing events."

Rayn Moses - Moses won the North 1, Group 1 Triple Jump title in 2012, and was named Third Team All Bergen County in the event, after competing in the State Meet of Champions.  Moses was also a top sprinter, finishing second in the 100 and 200 in the North 1, Group 1 championship meet.  She was an NJIC All Meadowlands selection in 2012 in the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump. 

"Rayn's smile was just as big as her will to win, " Brady stated.  "She was a dominant sprinter, but really excelled in the jumps.  She is top 5 all-time in both long and triple jump, and is the school record holder in the triple jump."

The honorees will be honored publicly next year at 2021 Aviator Relays.
