EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Steven Faussette scored nine of his game high 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead Hasbrouck Heights past Rutherford, 65-52, in the opening round of the South Bergen Holiday Tournament at Becton High School.  The Aviators will play Becton High School on Friday for the second time this season.  The Aviators defeated the Wildcats 75-64 on Friday night in the NJIC Meadowlands opener for both teams last Friday evening.

Faussette led all scorers with 20, while junior forward Jaden Castro chipped in with 15 points. 

Hasbrouck Heights jumped out to 20-8 first quarter lead behind five points from Castro and Faussette, and four Mateo Ochoa and Kunga Tsering.  Rutherford came back a bit in the second, cutting the lead to 30-24 at the half.  Hasbrouck Heights maintained the lead through the third before pulling away in the fourth behind Faussette.

Matteo Ochoa chipped in 12 for the Aviators. Messiah Porter led Rutherford with 13 points.

The Hasbrouck Heights/Becton Championship game is scheduled to start at 2:30pm.
