NORTH ARLINGTON, NJ - Thursday was a rough day on the lanes for the Hasbrouck Heights bowling team. The Aviators were missing Jake Rozsa, their anchor bowler, while facing St. Mary in a match they needed to win, trailng the fourth place Gaels by three wins, with Wood-Ridge in between.
Instead, St. Mary wound up with a clean sweep, defeating the Aviators 7-0.
The day, however, was not a total loss as Damian DeCandia and Johnny Parker each had good days on the lanes. DeCandia broke his personal high score twice on the day, coming with his high series. Parker bowled a season high 183 and also had his high series.
“This year is about competing and improving,” head coach Dave Rispoli said. “That is what we need to concentrate on, facing challenges and meeting them head on. That is what we did today.
“Sean bowled his average, Johnny and Damiano bowled really well,” Rispoli said. “Hopefully we see the benefits of this in the future.”.
