EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Kunga Tsering had 21 points to lead Hasbrouck Heights to a come-from-behind, 58-43 victory over Lodi at the South Bergen Classic at Becton Regional High School on Sunday afternoon. The Aviators improved to 2-0 on the season with the win. Roland Leiva had 18 points to lead the Rams in scoring.
The Aviators were trailing 26-25 at the half before outscoring Lodi, 22-9, in the third quarter. Will Koukoutsis two foul shots gave the Aviators a 27-26 lead, which the Aviators never lost. Steven Faussette, Koukoutsis and Tsering each had six points in the quarter. Meanwhile, the Hasbrouck Heights defense shut down the Rams, limiting them to nine points, giving the Aviators a comfortable 12 point lead at the end of three quarters.
"I think our bigs played much better in the second half," said Hasbrouck Heights head coach Mike Cebula. "That was the key."
Faussette finished with 12 points, and Koukoutsis 11 to lead support Tsering in driving Heights offense.
Nick Williams of Lodi had nine points.
