WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - St. Mary outscored Wood-Ridge 15-5 in the fourth quarter to rally from down seven to defeat the Blue Devils, 57-54, in an NJIC Meadowlands boys basketball game Thursday night at Wood-Ridge. Prior to the game, Wood-RIdge honored its senior players who were playing in the final conference game of their careers.
Ryan Sarver had a game high 24 points for the Blue Devils, hitting five three pointers, including three early in the third quarter. But St. Mary was able to keep him scoreless in the fourth, holding the Blue Devils to a three-ponter by Liam Winslow and a basket by Steven Crandall while rallying by the Blue Devils.
Nick Gillies had 13 for the Gaels, while Robby Phillips had 11 and Julian Hernandez 10 for St. Mary.
Wood-Ridge led 21-12 after the first quarter, and 32-29 at the half.
