HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Kunga Tsering scored 21 and Steven Faussette scored 15 as Hasbrouck Heights handed Weehawken a 58-33 loss Thursday evening at Hasbrouck Heights in a NJIC Meadowlands Division boys basketball game.
It took three and half minutes for either team to get on the scoreboard, as neither team looked sharp early. Jon Chamberlain hit a three-pointer (one of four on the game) to cut the lead to 7-5 before Tsering and Jaden Castro scored for 12-5 first quarter lead.
The sloppy play continued through the half, as the Aviators took a 24-12 lead in the locker room at halftime.
Weehawken made a run to get back into the game in the third, as Chamberlain hit three three-pointers, as the Indians outscored the Aviators 12-9 to cut the lead to nine, 33-24 after three periods.
The fourth quarter was all Hasbrouck Heights, as the Aviators outscored Weehawken, 26-8, to blow the game open. Tsering had eight and Faussette had five to lead the attack in the fourth quarter.
