HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Spencer Lee ran for two touchdowns and Jake Diaz caught two touchdown passes as  Hasbrouck Heights rolled over Lodi, 41-0 Friday night at Depken Field in Hasbrouck Heights. The win moves the Aviators to 3-1 on the season, 2-1 in the NJIC Meadowlands, going into next week’s pivotal game against Butler.

The Aviators jumped on the board on the second play of their first possession, thanks to a little bit of trickery. Lee handed the ball off to Rocco Minichiello on a jet sweep, who pitched the ball to Stephen Faussette, who hit a wide open Diaz down the field for a 67-yard scoring strike. Connor Friedel kicked the extra point, and the Aviators led 7-0.

Following a three-and-out stop by the Aviators defense, Hasbrouck Heights marched 65 yards down the field, highlighted by a 42-yard pass from Lee to Zai’here Jenkins to move the ball inside the 10.  Lee ran it over from three yards away with 26 seconds remaining in the first quarter for 14-0 lead.

Lee scored again, with 7:03 left in the second quarter, on a six yard run, as the Aviators capped off another drive.  Lee hit Faussette for 34 yards to put the Aviators in scoring position.

The rest of the first half was sloppy for both sides, as each team turned the ball over, with Lee fumbling and throwing an interception, and Faussette intercepting a Lodi pass. The Aviators turned the Rams over on downs on a goal line stand in the final minute of the first half, keeping the score 21-0 at the half.

The Aviators iced the game on the opening drive of the second half, taking the opening kickoff and driving 80 yards  for a touchdown.  Minichiello did the majority of the work on the drive, carrying seven times for 50 yards, including the final five times, culminating in a one yard run, making the score 28-0.

Daniel Viola intercepted a pass to give Hasbrouck Heights the ball in scoring possession, and they took advantage quickly, as Lee hit Diaz with his second receiving touchdown of the game, from 28 yards, to make the score 35-0.

With the rest of the game being played in running time, the Aviators ground out the final score of the game.  After swapping out Lee for Diaz at quarterback, Diaz scored his third touchdown of the game, a 49-yarder, to make the score 41-0.

Robert Boscarino picked off a desperation pass towards the Hasbrouck Heights goal following a kickoff return into Aviator territory.  The Aviators just ran out the clock, gaining one first down, before taking a knee three times.
