ROBBINSVILLE, NJ -  These are the revised ratings from Gridiron New Jersey, who released not one, but two, updates to the numbers they announced Sunday afternoon, and which were used in yesterday's reporting. The changes impacted only two teams in the top 16, as Butler and Shabazz switched spots.

(Editor's Note: I have been asked why don't I wait until Tuesday to run the standings, when we know the numbers are right.  The answer is simple, everybody wants to know as soon as possible, and when numbers are released by Gridiron, the presumption is that they are correct.)

The rest of the changes had to deal with teams in the below the 24 mark, and are effectively out of the  playoff hunt.

Things to Watch For in the results:  Last year, in looking at the numbers, there was a scenario where, if everything broke a certain way, Pompton Lakes would sneak into the playoffs at the 16 spot, and would force Hasbrouck Heights into Section 2.  Few thought it would happen, or even believed it could happen. But it did.

So what should you be watching for this week to upset the Group 1 applecart?

15th seed New Providence is 6-1 and faces 11th seed 7-1 Brearley on Friday night in a game which could, depending on the outcome, see one the loser drop all the way out of the playoffs. The two have the lowest OSI of anyone currently in the top 16.

14th seed Emerson faces 9th seed Butler.  Butler should be comfortably in the playoffs, but could take a tumble in the rankings with a loss to the Cavos.  Considering they have the high current strength index number, it would be difficult to explain how the numbers all relate to each other.  Emerson with a loss should still be good, as they will get half of Butler's Strength Points (38.3.)  It is worth as much (in OSI) as getting the winners points against 19th ranked Glen Ridge.
